Okay, well, I'll just get the nitty gritty right out of the way.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday:
4:00 - 6:00(?) I'll be playing for the "Playford Dance" (BTW, this is an open band)

7:00 - 8:00 pm, my First Concert Set.

Saturday
10:00 am I'm a reader for CPC's "Tea and Tarot"
2:00 pm I'm a panelist for the "Faerie Faith" talk

5:00 pm My SECOND!!!! Concert Set.

6:00 pm I *may* jump in for a song or two at the Regency Dance (which I'm actually programmed against- grr.), but looks like it's not to be this year, especially because at

7:00 pm, I've been asked to join Myffanwy at her concert as one of her Darkover Dixie Devils.
I'll likely be the one sittin' in with the banjo on a couple of tunes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

So here's my plan of attack.
My Friday concert set will be devoted exclusively to the songs that come from the traditional side of my repertoire or else be modern songs that SOUND old. If you're familiar with my repertoire list (they sometimes show up at my gigs where I take requests) these are the songs in teeny tiny type that are shown in GREEN.
If you like the "wandering minstrel" facet of my musical persona, this is your show.

My Saturday concert set will be drawn from everything else in my repertoire. These are the songs on the list in teeny tiny type that are not in green. There will be folk, blues, rock, etc.
I'm trying to represent many facets of my musical interests and influences.

Since this is my very first time playing at Darkover as a guest, and given the level of talent I'm next to in the programming, I WILL be playing as if I have something to prove. I'm pulling out some of my (IMHO) A+ stuff, both old and new. And yes, some of it is singalongable as well as showoffy.

I will, since many of the audience will be people who haven't had a chance to hear it yet, probably be playing the "Mystery Song". If you recognise this song, and can tell me what album it came from and one of the more popular songs off of that album (it was a big pop hit in my youth), you get a free copy of _Patches_.

Also, regarding "Party With The Elder Ones". This blasphemous unmentionable abomination whose unholy monotonously simple chords have been known to drive singers mad, whose lyrics cause a curse of spasmodic laughter and gastronomically unclean snickers at the internally bleeding puns and gory asides, will NOT be in either of my regular sets. It will be unleashed later at night in the Filk Room where it's Evil can be safely contained and concentrated on souls far too corrupt to be damaged further or cause undo risk to an innocent world who's had enough of the lesser of Evils this month.

I also plan to record my sets. This will be good news to folks who find themselves torn because my sets (especially Saturday) are up against other cool things at the con.
If all goes well, I should have bootlegs of the concerts available in a couple of weeks.
If you want one, they can be scored for the price of a "favor".
My standard "favor" is to simply show up at one of my gigs or maybe find me a lead for a new gig, or some piece of gear that I can use for an insanely low price, etc etc.
The "favor" for one of these bootlegs (assuming they turn out) will be a little special:
I foresee, somewhere in the attainable future, that I could have a gig in a new venue, namely, I'll be shopping for more bar/coffeehouse/restaurant gigs. When I score one, I'll probably be making a big call to rally the troups and put a good audience showing for it. New Deal is fine when 3-10 people show up, because over time they've seen that >100 different people have come to make up at least part of that number every time. But for my first gig in a new venue, I'll need a more substantial showing right off the bat. So the price of the bootleg will be your body, strategically timed and placed in a bar or coffehouse sometime in the future.
Some long-term steady supporters will also be getting copies gratis, and they should know who they are.

Anyway, hope to see some (maybe all) of you who make it to Darkover, especially at my concert sets.
They're going to be a blast.
