Why:
Last Wednsday was my birthday, and I wanted to celebrate.
And there's SO much else to celebrate too!
Do we have a theme?
Why yes we do. It's not much, but it'll be kind of fun.
The theme is "Spaghetti and Cheese"
I've acquired some DVDs of some of my favorite "spaghetti" westerns from the 60's and 70's (Sergio Leone's and others') and I would love to watch some of these deliciously cheesy movies with some good friends and eat some cheesy food while we do it.
We can and may also do some gaming, some schmoozing, play some music, build stuff out of Lego, and anything else we think of that's fun.
For movies I have
_The Good The Bad & The Ugly_ (of course!) The "Sabata" trilogy (The 1st Sabata movie has an AMAZING scene of a banjo player in a gunfight) _Once Upon A Time In The West_ _They Call Me "Trinity"_ (which is technically a *satire* of the genre, but stands up just fine, IMHO)- actually, as of today, it's not been delivered yet, but it should arrive soon. I've got the rest of the list tho.
And a possibly interesting set of Lee Van Cleef movies, some of which seem to be of Italian origin, but lesser pedigree than the better known classics.
Any contributions to the entertainment will be considered as well, and that includes changing or departing from the theme if we wish. It's a party. I don't need these plans carved into stone!
So, if you want to share in this fun, then come on over!
RSVPs are helpful but surprise guests are also fun.
Gifts are absolutely not required or necessary. Your presence is preferrable to me!
In the Baggins tradition, I'll have mathoms to give away.
I will (as is my wont) be making a bunch of food, but contributions of more food (especially CHEESY FOOD) will be ravenously welcomed. Same goes for drinks.
We have some crash space, but for that, an RSVP will be most helpful.
We have no pets. If we find pets after the party is over, we can not be responsible for them.
Our house has some excellent kid friendly places, but is not completely childproof. Well behaved, and fun children are, of course welcome. But the same warning applies, if we find children here after the party is over.
Final caveat: if you arrive early you may be drafted into party prep. But that also means you might get to play with knives or food!
