A political thing.
It's not my habit to do this, but I've seen no talk of it here and thought I should share.
No, it's not an active link, and I promise to learn how to do that eventually. edit: LJ went and made it active for me. I didn't know it would do that. Wow!!

The gist of it is that this guy believes that it is hubris and contributing to the downfall of the US if the new Muslim Congressman takes his oath of office on the Koran instead of the Bible.
"Hello, Pot? Yeah, this is Kettle calling..."
How dare this Jackass claim to speak for America. He sure as Hell don't speak for me.
Later will come the Darkover post.
Edit Twoo: I got this link from the LJ of one

If we really held to American values, all public officials would take their oaths on the Constitution, because THAT, not the Bible, is the central document of American culture. We differ on what religious texts we hold sacred, but EVERY American public official is (or ought to be) unified in support of the Constitution.

Or I was, until just now, when I excommunicated you for not knowing that I was already a pope because every man, woman and child on the face of this planet is one.
And then excommunicated myself for using this power in public.
So I guess we're no longer popes until one of us gives in and recommunicates the other.

Tell you what...
We should probably both reinstate ourselves and each other and grant permanent dispensation to exceed our lawful authority so that this never happens again.
Whew! That was a close one. I don't think the Universe could have functioned much longer without our Papacys.

Look at the state this place is in now! I swear, we can't leave this office for a second without some jerk screwing it up.
*sighs* I guess we're stuck.
